NICKEL PRICES CONTINUE TO RISE
31 July 2006

Nickel Price Graph July 31 2006 YTD In our May update, nickel had just risen approximately 30% in just the last month.  The consensus at the time was that prices would continue to rise but but the level of the rise was not certain.

We did see the anticipated rise.  Shortly thereafter, it was followed by a relaxation and we began to hope for some stabilization.  But, in mid June prices again surged, this time rising by roughly 50% in just one month.

Overshadowing the rising prices, deliveries were becoming longer and longer.  This was particularly worrisome to perlite producers who must rely on this material for the very heart of their process equipment.

Fortunately, just before this last increase, Incon made the decision to purchase material for stock inner liners.  With this we can provide a measure of stability and  prompt response even as the market becomes more volatile and deliveries stretch out.
